A Whole 30 orangey sweet & sticky salmon with a hint of spice and delicious pomegranate seeds to top it off!

This super easy salmon bowl is a winner when it comes to weeknight meals you can make in a flash! I love a good salmon bowl, and these sweet orange and pomegranate flavors work so well in it! Here’s what what you need for this Sweet & Sticky Salmon Bowl:

  • salmon

  • olive oil

  • oranges

  • orange zest

  • pomegranate seeds

  • coconut aminos

  • arrowroot powder

  • garlic

  • ginger

  • red pepper flakes

  • sesame oil

  • sesame seeds

  • salt + pepper

  • optional: Whole 30 approved sriracha

  • additional for the bowl: broccolini, avocado

This salmon recipe is so easy and the perfect Whole 30 approved recipe. It takes about 15 minutes to make which is perfect for when I’m, ravenous and need something for dinner in a jiff. This is a riff on orange chicken which is one of my all-time favorite dishes to order when I’m craving Asian food. This is just a healthier version!

 

Sweet & Sticky Salmon Bowl

(serves 2)

ingredients:

  • 2 pieces salmon

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 orange, juiced

  • 1 tbsp orange zest

  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos (soy sauce if not doing Whole 30)

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot powder

  • 2 clvoes garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp ginger paste

  • pinch red pepper flakes

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds + more for topping

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • optional: Whole 30 approved sriracha

  • add ons:

    • roasted broccolini

    • avocado

directions:

  1. pat your salmon dry and drizzle the olive oil over top with the salt and pepper.

  2. in a small bowl, mix the orange juice, orange zest, coconut aminos, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and sesame seeds. then add in the arrowroot powder and heat in a small saucepan on low for 5-7 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.

  3. lay a piece of parchment paper inside your air fryer basket and then your salmon down on top. drizzle the sauce over the salmon. save some sauce for drizzling overtop afterwards.

  4. air fry at 390 for 9-11 minutes until the salmon gets crispy on the outside and cooked pink on the inside.

  5. add to your bowl with some roasted broccolini and a fresh avocado, and drizzle the remaining sauce overtop the salmon and broccolini. top with the pomegranate seeds and more sesame seeds. enjoy!
