Saucy Sesame Noodles

dairy free

My mom's classic Bolognese sauce I grew up eating when I was a kid. So hearty, comforting, and the quintessential Italian mother's recipe!

There is nothing I love more in this world than saucy noodles. Whenever I order Asian food, noodles are always going to be on my list of things to order. The saucier the better IMO!

These Asian-inspired sesame noodles are basically the base to my favorite ramen. I use soy sauce, peanut butter, tahini, sesame oil, brown sugar, and tons of spice to give my saucy base for these noodles. I love using ramen noodles because of how well they absorb the sauce and how pliable they are to twist on your fork easily and get a big bite. I top the noodles with green onions, red chilis for extra spice, and of course Momofuko chili crunch oil.

Here are the Ingredients for these Saucy Sesame Noodles:

  • Vegetables - Red Chilis, Shallots, Green Onions, Ginger, Garlic

  • Protein - Ground Beef, Ground Pork

  • Seasonings - Salt, Black Pepper

  • Dairy - Butter

  • Pantry - Ramen, Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, Tahini, Peanut Butter, Sesame Oil, Brown Sugar, Sriracha

  • Sriracha as desired
  • 1/2-1 cup water from boiling noodles

  3. Melt butter in the pan and add the grated ginger and garlic. Cook for a couple minutes until fragrant and then add the soy sauce, sesame oil, tahini, peanut butter, brown sugar and sriracha. Mix until thick sauce forms.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water from the ramen noodles into the sauce and mix well.
  5. Add the cooked ramen directly into sauce. Mix and add more of the ramen water to reach desired sauciness.
  6. Top with fried chili pepper, green onion and shallot. Chop the tops of the green onions and add those too. Enjoy!
