Salad Pizza with Crispy Prosciutto

The best kind of salad? One that goes on top of pizza, duh!

I have always been a salad pizza lover. It still let’s me have my favorite food of all time (pizza obviously) and not full so guilty or overly full afterwards. Italian salads are always my jam. I love adding pickled peppercinis, prosciutto, red onions, tomatoes and all the Italian spices to my salad. It make the pizza taste so fresh adding lots of vinegar and fresh veggies to the mix.

Here’s what you’ll need for this Salad Pizza with Crispy Prosciutto:

  • pizza crust

  • marinara - I use my Nonnie’s Marinara Sauce

  • red onion

  • prosciutto

  • butter lettuce

  • radicchio

  • pickled peppercinis

  • tiny cherry tomatoes

  • parmesan

  • oregano

  • olive oil

  • salt

  • pepper

  • red pepper flakes

  • red wine vinegar

Bake your pizza crust with the marinara on for amount on package. Meanwhile you are going to make your salad. Combine the lettuce with all the veggies. Slice the prosciutto and add to the air fryer. Once it’s crispy, add it to the salad. Drizzle the olive oil and red wine vinegar over top and add in the oregano, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Remove the pizza from the oven and add the salad over top. Finish it off with some shaved parmesan and enjoy!

 

Salad Pizza with Crispy Prosciutto

(serves 2-4)

ingredients:

  • 1 pizza crust

  • 1 cup marinara - I use my Nonnie’s Marinara Sauce

  • 1 red onion, sliced thin

  • 4 slices prosciutto

  • 2 cups butter lettuce

  • 1 cup radicchio

  • 1/4 cup pickled peppercinis

  • 1/3 cup tiny cherry tomatoes

  • 1/4 cup parmesan

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar

directions:

  1. spread the marinara sauce over the pizza crust and bake as instructed until done.

  2. slice the prosciutto into strips and air fry at 360 F for 8-10 minutes.

  3. in a large mixing bowl, combine the lettuce, radicchio, red onion, tomatoes, pickled peppercinis, and the prosciutto when done. mix them together with 1/2 the parmesan, olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and oregano.

  4. once the pizza is done, remove and top it with the salad. add the rest of the parmesan on top. sprinkle with more red pepper as desired and enjoy!
