The filling is so easy to make. If you’ve seen the viral video, you add steamed rice, a piece of salmon, mayo, sriracha, and soy sauce to a bowl and mash it up. I also added some green onion and some shaved carrots to my filling, doubled wrapped them in rice paper, and air fried this little guys until they were crispy and crunched with every bite.

Salmon Rice Air Fryer Dumplings

ingredients:

  • 2 cups steamed white or brown rice

  • 1 piece of cooked salmon

  • 2 tbsp japanese mayo (can use regular or avocado oil mayo)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sriracha

  • green onion, diced

  • 1 carrot, shaved

  • rice paper

  • sesame seeds

  • dipping sauce

    • soy sauce

    • seseame seeds

    • green onion

directions:

  1. in a bowl, add the steamed rice, cook salmon, mayo, soy sauce and sriracha. mash them up with a fork and mix together.

  2. in a shallow dish or bowl (big enough to fit the rice paper), add some water and submerge the first piece of rice paper into the water. keep it submerged for about 30 seconds so it becomes pliable. remove the rice paper and lay flat onto a clean worksurface.

  3. add in 2 large scoops of the salmon rice filling, some green onion pieces, and some shaved carrot. fold into a square.

  4. repeat step and and add in the wrapped dumplings and wrap it again (yes we are double wrapping these for extra crispiness!).

  5. repeat until you use up all your filling (I got 7 dumplings out of mine but that could change depending on how big/ small you make them).

  6. spray the basket of the air fryer and arrange the dumplings in them, careful not to overcrowd. lightly spray the tops of the dumplings and cook at 400 for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  7. serve with a squeeze of lime and the dipping sauce above. other good dipping options are sriracha mayo (a mix of those two things lol) or thai sweet chili sauce. enjoy!
