Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

vegan / dairy free / gluten free

Would it really be football season without buffalo wings? If you want a game day app that’s a little lighter, try these Buffalo Cauliflower Bites instead!

This recipe is one of my favorites to use when I want to make a cheap, easy and healthy appetizer for football season. I’ve made them in Maple Sriracha flavor before and they were FIRE. So I obviously had to post the classic buffalo. I love to take the easy way out too and get a store-bought buffalo sauce. The primal kitchen one is a great option, but if you want to stick to classic Frank’s Red Hot, that’s amazing too.

Here is the recipe for the Maple Sriracha Cauliflower Bites if buffalo isn’t your thing or you want to make a variety. Hey, the more the merrier.

Here is what you’ll need to make these Fig Jam & Goat Cheese Sliders:

  • Cauliflower

  • Cassava flour or All Purpose FLour

  • Water

  • Garlic Powder

  • Onion Powder

  • Smoked Paprika

  • Cayenne

  • Salt

  • Buffalo Sauce

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

ingredients:

  • 1/2 head cauliflower

  • 1/2 cup cassava flour (can also use all purpose flour)

  • 1/4-1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce

directions:

  1. Cut the cauliflower into bite sizes.

  2. Mix together the cassava flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne and salt in a bowl.

  3. Stir in the water slowly until the consistency of thin pancake batter is reached. You don’t want it too liquidy that it doesn’t stick to the cauliflower.

  4. Mix the cauliflower pieces into the batter and coat each one.

  5. Spray your air fryer basket and air fry at 400 F for 10 minutes.

  6. Mix the cauliflower bites in 3/4 of the buffalo sauce, place back in the air fyer, and cook again for 12 minutes at 400 F.

  7. Toss in the rest of the buffalo sauce and serve with your favorite dipping sauce (I’m a ranch girl myself!)
