2 Ingredient Bagels

The easiest bagels you’ll ever need only require two ingredients!

2 ingredient dough is one of my favorite things to make. I always use this dough to make pizza at home but it’s just as good to use for bagels also! The only 2 ingredients you’ll need are non-fat plain greek yogurt and self-rising flour. I will make sure to constantly have these two things on hand in my kitchen for when I’m craving something homemade like these bagels. They take minimal effort and are totally customizable!

You can make the bagels any of your favorite flavors. I made these just plain with an egg wash and sea salt on top, but I love making a cinnamon raison, everything, or onion and chive flavor. You can seriously make it however you want and get creative with it!

I love using cream cheese and a little honey on my bagel, but other good options are peanut butter, jam, butter, or making your own unique cream cheese! I love to mix some cinnamon and walnuts sometimes into mine.

 

2 Ingredient Bagels

(makes 6 medium size bagels)

ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cup self rising flour

  • 1 1/2 cup non fat plain greek yogurt

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp water

  • sea salt

directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the yogurt and flour together with a fork until it starts to combine. Flour your hands and knead the dough for 5 minutes.

  3. Transfer to floured surface and continue to knead as needed. cut the dough into 6 equal parts.

  4. Roll each piece of dough into a ball and using the back end of the fork, poke a hole in the middle. Work the dough so the bagel gets a little larger and flatter. Transfer the bagels to a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

  5. Mix the egg with the water and brush the tops of the bagels. Sprinkle some sea salt over top.

  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.

  7. Serve with your favorite bagel toppings and enjoy!
