Lemon Harissa Hummus
vegan / gluten free / dairy free
A lemony, bright hummus that has a kick with a hint of harissa spice that goes perfect as an appetizer or in a Mediterranean bowl.
I love having hummus on hand for a mid-afternoon snack. I always have chickpeas on hand so I figured there’s no point in buying hummus constantly. This flavor is one of my go-to’s because its so flavorful, but the flavor can kind of go with whatever dish you’re making or whatever you want to dip with!
Here’s what you’ll need for this Lemon Harissa Hummus:
chickpeas
tahini
lemon juice
lemon zest
thyme
harissa paste
salt
pepper
red pepper flakes
garlic
olive oil
za’atar seasoning
parsley
pine nuts
The secret to getting the hummus to be extra lemony is something that actually surprised me. Adding fresh thyme is the key to a super fresh and lemony hummus! I get my harissa paste from Trader Joes. I think it’s so delicious and has the perfect amount of spice to it.
