Apple Streusel Pie
Chilly weather is in full swing and I’m craving anything fall flavored. I know you are too, so enjoy this festive fall dessert with a creamy cinnamon apple filling & a buttery streusel topping baked to golden perfection.
One thing about me, I’m definitely more of a cook than a baker. So let that just tell you how simple this recipe really is. HOWEVER, by the way it looks, tastes, and smells everything will think you should be on Great British Bakeoff I promise you. I know it may seem intimidating, but if I can do it, you can too…. it’s an ATOB secret, shhhh!

Fruit: Apples (mix in variety)
Seasonings - Salt, Nutmeg, Cinnamon
Pantry - Walnuts, Pecans, White Sugar, Brown Sugar, Vanilla Extract, Flour
Dairy - Butter, Coconut Yogurt
Protein - Egg
Other - Pie Crust,
Apple Streusel Pie
Ingredients
- 1 cup Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Yogurt
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups apples, peeled & sliced 1/4” thick (about 4-5 large apples; used a mix of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, & Envy)
- 1 pie crust, unbaked
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 light brown sugar
- 1 heaping tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Whisk the yogurt, white sugar, egg, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla together.
- Add in the cut apples and mix until evenly coated. Set aside for at least 30 minutes.
- To make the streusel, combine the ingredients listed with a fork to form a crumble.
- On a greased pie plate, lay out the unbaked pie crust (should do this step when the dough is at room temperature).
- Pour in the apples and all the juices into the pie plate.
- Top with the streusel and spread evenly.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until top is golden.
- Let the pie sit for at least 30 minutes to get the inside to set before serving.
