Strawberry Cheesecake Danishes

brunch / sweets / baking

golden brown, flaky pastries with a cheesecake filling. and the best part, you can eat them for breakfast!

danishes are my dad’s favorite things to get for Sunday breakfasts because he has the biggest sweet tooth. We used to go to the local bakery and aways get a box of these and the strawberry were always the best in my opinion. I came up with this recipe this summer and now I’m obsessed with making them. mainly because it’s only 6 ingredients!!

the first step is letting your puff pastry dough thaw and cutting it into 6 squares. lay it on a a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

next, you’ll beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. spread it on each one of the pieces of dough, but leave a little bit of room around the edges.

then all that is left is to slice your strawberries and lay them on the dough. take your fork and pinch the edges of each pastry. brush on an egg wash and bake.
